Pearls of Cuba draws a social portrait of contemporary Cuba through the island's plural music scene. The film uses music, one of the country's pulsating forces, to travel through the landscapes and local culture: a current record captured in a poetic way through sounds, photography and people. Using original characters, representative of the various sounds that animate the island, we reveal not only the richness and uniqueness of Cuba in the global landscape, but we show, through the daily lives of the interviewees, the dreams, desires, joys, frustrations , the values, the challenges and the flexibility of a changing way of life.
